Soirees in the Castle of Tirol 2008

The Soirees in the Castle of Tirol are held every year in June and July, on five
Thursdays. They are among the most popular summer events in South Tirol. These solemn soirees were introduced in
1990, the 850th anniversary of the castle. The outstanding performances of medieval and Renaissance music come
with a rich historical side programme and are set against the background of the impressive Castle, making a medieval
spirit come alive. As you enter you will be welcomed by early music and offered a welcome drink prepared according
to a medieval recipe, and you will soon be captured by the suggestive atmosphere of the huge Castle. During the
interval you will be able to taste some samples from the cellar and some culinary specialities - all delicious
and tasty, prepared according to original medieval recipes. After the concert you can look forward to the next
highlight: The walk back to the centre of the village Dorf Tirol will be illuminated by more than a hundred torches.
